August 2026 Newsletter
Dear Friends,
One year ago today was the first time I walked the grounds at what has now become Hiawatha’s new home in Allegan MI. There was a ton of work that needed to take place but there was even more potential for what could be. We prayerfully made the decision to take over Camp Kaskitowa. It was not a decision we took lightly. We believed God was leading us to expand the ministry, strengthen the future of the camp, and create even greater opportunities to reach young people with the gospel.
Looking back, it's amazing to see what God has done in such a short time. The renovations completed over the past nine months and the fact that camp has successfully operated this summer are nothing short of a miracle. We've watched lives changed, had 17 campers come to Christ, and countless young people grow in their faith.
At the same time, those blessings have required significant financial investment. To make this vision possible, we secured a $150,000 loan, and we currently have $35,000 in immediate financial obligations that need to be met before the end of the month.
God has faithfully provided every step of the way, and we believe He will continue to do so. We also know that He often provides through people who believe in this ministry and want to be part of what He is accomplishing.
Many of you have seen firsthand the transformation that has taken place at Hiawatha Youth Camp. Some of you experienced camp as young people yourselves. Others have watched your children—and even your grandchildren—grow spiritually because of their time here. Your prayers, encouragement, volunteer service, and financial support have all played an important role in making that possible.
Over the next several weeks, we'll continue work in the dining area, restrooms, and landscaping. These improvements are important not only for next summer's campers but also for the retreat groups, churches, and community events that use the camp throughout the year. Completing these projects and continuing the ministry depends on meeting our current financial needs.
Would you prayerfully consider partnering with us through a financial gift? Every contribution, no matter the size, helps us continue the work God has entrusted to us and invest in the lives of future generations.
God has been incredibly good to us this summer. We've seen lives changed, strong camp attendance, and overwhelming encouragement from alumni, churches, and friends. We truly believe this is just the beginning of what God has planned.
Thank you for your faithful support, your prayers, and your belief in this ministry. We are grateful for all that has been done to bring us to this point, and we look forward to seeing how God continues to work through His people in the days ahead.
If your schedule allows, we would love to show you firsthand the renovations at camp on August 29, 2026, between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM (click here to RSVP). Come enjoy some food, see what you’ve helped us achieve the last nine months and get a firsthand view of what we hope to accomplish in the year ahead.
Sincerely,
Craig
