All About Junior Camp

What To Expect

Junior Camp is made for younger campers to have the best week of their summer! During this week, cabins are the core group that campers do everything with. We ensure that Junior Campers are always accompanied by a staff member during their week at camp.

Here are a few things you can expect during Junior Week:

  • Fun games and activities in our week-long competition between two teams

  • Interactive morning and evening services

  • Boys and girls split beach time with access to canoes, paddle boards, and inflatable water toys (like a camper favorite, the Super Trampoline!)

  • Nightly devotions with your cabin and counselors to reflect on the messages, bond as a cabin, and grow together in the Lord

Junior Camp Services

Junior Camp services at Hiawatha Youth Camp are designed with elementary-aged campers in mind, creating an engaging environment where faith can take root and grow.

Each service includes interactive songs that help campers learn Scripture and biblical principles, age-appropriate games to keep them engaged, and reflection time with their cabin to ask questions and process what they’ve learned.

Throughout the week, campers are introduced to a new Bible story in each service, all connected to the weekly theme. These services are grounded in a trusted curriculum selected by our speaker and approved by our Directors, ensuring a Christ-centered experience that is both joyful and spiritually formative.

Junior Camp Speaker

Meet Rebecca Adkins! Rebecca has been a part of the HYC family for over a decade now, first as a camper, then a staff member for several years, and has been our Junior Week speaker since 2021.

Rebecca teaches from a Bible-based children’s curriculum with new themes and Biblical focuses each year.

Our Staff

Each year, Hiawatha Youth Camp hires some of the most passionate, energetic, and talented young men and women on the planet to help inspire, teach, lead, nurture, and grow our campers.

We employ staff members who are gifted in specific areas of HYC’s program, including counselors, worship leaders, kitchen staff, and varied other capacities. Our staff are assessed during our application process to ensure they are spiritually grounded in their faith as they step into this role of ministry and leadership.
