Hiawatha is a non-denominational camp fully devoted to sharing the Gospel with every person either at camp or using our facilities. Pastors, missionaries, Christian workers, and youth from all over the nation have incredible stories how God did something radical in their lives at HYC.
The camp is supported by monthly Pledge Partners, special events, and a limited number of donations given during the summer. If you are interested in becoming a Pledge Partner or making a one-time financial donation, please visit the Donate page for more information. For any other kind of donation, please contact our main office.
The camp is nestled in the stunningly beautiful Hiawatha National Forest in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. We’re 50 miles over the Mackinac Bridge, just 20 minutes from Tahquamenon Falls, and on the shores of Piatt Lake; Hiawatha has been blessed with one of the most spectacular locations in America. You can find directions on our contact page!
Not only is it cold in the UP, but the original construction of the camp did not include plans for winter activities. Though it wouldn’t be too difficult to insulate and chop extra firewood, that doesn't take into account the travel difficulties people encounter during the winter months in such a low-population part of Michigan.
The incredible students and young adults that make up the HYC staff have a deep and sincere love for this ministry, and they understand the importance of sharing the Gospel by any means possible. Many have gone on to serve in diverse ministries around the world. If you’re interested in being part of the HYC staff, that’s awesome! We’d love for you to contact our main office and request an application.
