FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is Hiawatha Youth Camp’s mission?

Our mission is to help young people get excited about their relationship with Jesus Christ. HYC is all about preaching and teaching the Gospel to kids from all over Michigan.

What does a week at camp look like?

Here’s what you can expect during a week (or more!) at HYC: daily services with incredible pastors from all over Michigan, a week of wild competition and games between two teams, bonding with new friends, top-notch lodging and dining, Biblical mentorship from our staff, and most importantly, spiritual growth when it comes to your relationship with Jesus Christ.

When do I need to register?

We strongly recommend you register no later than the first week of June. Camp weeks can fill up quickly so registering early can guarantee your spot with your best friends and favorite speakers! Click here to register for HYC 2024.

Can I stay in a cabin with my friend or relative?

Yes, you can! Make sure to add your friend or relative’s name to the “Roomie Request” section on your registration form (only same gender requests will be considered).

Can I bring a group from my church?

Absolutely! If you'd like to sign up a group of multiple campers feel free to contact our office by calling (734) 284-0200. We can reserve spots for multiple campers in your group if needed.

Is there a dress code at HYC?

We do not enforce a dress code, but we ask that campers refrain from wearing revealing clothing or clothing with inappropriate designs or words. Female staff and campers are required to wear one-piece bathing suits at the beach.

What should I pack for a week at camp?

You can view our recommended packing list here. Please note that bedding will not be provided this year.

Can I sign up for multiple weeks?

Yes! Many of our teen campers come for multiple weeks. Keep in mind we do not allow campers to stay over from Saturday (end of the previous camp week) to Sunday (the beginning of a new camp week).
