October Newsletter 2025

Dear Partner,

President Eisenhower once said, “plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.” I wanted to share with you some of the plans we have for our Miracle 2.0 campaign going into October at our new home in Allegan.

  • We’ve raised close to $25,000 the past two weeks.

  • The Allegan County inspector has been out to check water levels.

  • Fire inspector has been out to do a preliminary walk through of changes we will need to make to have things operational by June.

  • Birch Point Services Company has been out to inspect septic tank situation letting us know that the cost will be approximately $60,000 for four septic tanks.

  • Title company and licensed surveyors have been secured to draw up boundary surveys and document the land’s features for legal records. The cost for that is $8,000.

  • One water heater has been replaced in the caretaker’s cabin.

  • There will be work parties every weekend in October.

  • Windows will be purchased for two of the camper cabins and installed later this month.

  • A trailer is filled with items (tables/ sound equipment/ misc. boxes) that have been in storage and now will be taken to our new home.

  • The kitchen has been scrubbed and cleaned and cleaned some more and is ready to serve meals to work parties that come this month.

  • Staff will be getting together October 18th for a work party and planning for the 2026 summer season.

  • One new church and one outreach ministry are signed up to rent the grounds at the end of our camping season.

  • Program is being put together to run from mid-June through the first week in August with Jr. Camp and three teen weeks.

Remember the quote I gave you previously about planning being useless but indispensable? The plans we have currently, on paper are good, however, they become rather useless if we don’t have the money on hand with which to make it all happen. And while $25,000 is a great starting point, we can’t get stuck there.

If you’re thinking of donating to help HYC with the Miracle 2.0 – would you please consider doing something today to make these plans a reality?

We’ll continue to keep you posted as progress is being made and if you’re interested in checking out our new facility in person throughout the month of October, feel free to call (734)284-0200 to set up a time to make it happen. Grateful for you and your continued prayers.

Sincerely,

Craig
